CSA5 Erosion Control Project

Project Summary

The CSA#5 Erosion Control Project (Project) is a water quality improvement project initiated to address water quality and erosion problems within the urbanized areas of Tahoma, in El Dorado County. The Project supports TRPA’s Environmental Improvement Program (EIP) through the design and installation of low impact Best Management Practices (BMPs).

The Project is located in Tahoma on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, and is bounded by Lake Tahoe and First Avenue to the east, the El Dorado/Placer County line to the north, Chinkapin Road and Placer Street to the west and Cedar Street to the South. The Project area is also located within TRPA designated Priority 2 Watershed 56 (General Creek).

  • Public Meeting Notice - 09/10/2020(PDF, 147KB)
  • July 2016: The CSA 5 Erosion Control Project is currently out to bid for construction, with the opening of bids expected on August 4, 2016. The Notice to bidders is available on the Transportation Bids page. If awarded, Construction of the Project is anticipated to begin in September.
  • April 2016: The Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the CSA 5 Erosion Control was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on APril 19, 2016. The document and Notice of Intent can be found on our CEQA page.
  • November 2015: A Public Meeting to discuss the draft Project Feasibility Report was held on November 12, 2015 at the El Dorado County Maintenance Yard on Wilson Street in Tahoma. Comments received at the meeting and received via mail, email, or phone through December 7, 2015, have been incorporated into the Project Feasibility Report.
