January 2026

Friday, 1/2 
Monthly meeting with Library Director.

Monthly meeting with DOT Director. 

Supervisor Laine and I met with staff regarding the Rubicon Trail next steps for working with Placer County. 

Staff and I met with SSBMI Tribe leadership for our annual meeting to discuss items, including a request from NBROA regarding the proposed tribal housing project.  Everyone agreed that we would all benefit from increased communication between the Tribe and County. 

Thursday, 1/8
Follow up meeting with LAFCO, MFPD leadership, GVFPD leadership, and CAO staff regarding next steps for continued collaboration. 

Meeting with Carson Creek Village 11 representatives for a briefing on their agenda item. 

Friday, 1/9
Attended GFPD to show County support as they move forward toward sustainability. 

Meeting with Creekside Village representatives for briefing on their agenda item. 

Sunday, 1/11
Attended Garden Valley Fire breakfast.  Residents shared with me how much they appreciated the recent roadwork on Greenwood Road and I said I would convey their appreciation to our DOT Maintenance crew.  Thank you! 

Monday, 1/12
Attended EID board meeting with EDWA General Manager Rebecca Guo.  EID considered an agenda item to clarify their project priorities while allowing their staff to participate in the countywide planning that is EDWA’s mission.  We appreciated the opportunity to make public comments on their agenda item. 

Supervisor Ferrero and I met with staff as the Planning Commission Bylaws Ad Hoc.  Staff is working on the draft agenda item that will be brought to the board in the near future.  The agenda item will include items for the Board to consider in addition to the Bylaws update. 

Attended First 5 El Dorado Commission meeting.  Focus is on rebranding First 5 as the County pivots away from Hubs. 

Wednesday, 1/14
Met with DOT to discuss upcoming PG&E undergrounding on Rock Creek Road. Requested a community meeting to share information with the community for expectations during the undergrounding project.

EDWA board meeting. Board heard a presentation from Grizzly Flats CSD on their recovery post Caldor Fire, approved funding for development of the Tahoe Basin Water Blueprint and Implementation Roadmap, and gave direction to staff to invite all purveyors to present to the EDWA board.

Virtual meeting with Rubicon partners to discuss long term maintenance.

Thursday, 1/15
Pioneer Community Energy Board meeting. Board took action to decrease the Pioneer portion of electric bills.

Friday, 1/16
Monthly virtual meeting with Planning staff.

Monthly meeting with Ag Director.

Monthly meeting with Environmental Management Director.

Tuesday, 1/20
Monthly meeting with Sheriff.

Supervisor Veerkamp and I, as the Airport Ad Hoc Committee, met with staff to discuss the upcoming Board item regarding leases.

Wednesday, 1/21
RCRC, GSCA, and GSFA board meetings. There are several ad hoc committees working on Policy Principles. I submitted the draft Predatory Species Management policy to our Agricultural Commissioner for review. It was positively received.

Attended the RCRC 2026 Annual Rural Leadership Reception.

Thursday, 1/22
GSJTA Governing Board meeting. I did not support the update to the Workforce Board’s Bylaws.

Introductory meeting with EID General Manager. It was good to have time to connect with her.

Monthly meeting with County Counsel.

Attended MFPD board meeting to continue collaborative support for sustainability of emergency services.

Attended Georgetown VFW Breakfast.

Webinar regarding SB 54 (Allen 2022) recycling implementation.

Thursday, 1/29
Meeting with Commission on Aging representative.

Monthly meeting with Chief Probation Officer.

Meeting with Registrar of Voters.

Attended El Dorado County Chamber Installation Dinner as a boardmember of Pioneer Community Energy, who was a sponsor of the event.

Friday, 1/30
Meeting with Rubicon Trail representatives to follow up on recent letter from USFS regarding trail operations and maintenance.

Saturday, 1/31
Participated in ARC’s Bond Prescribed Fire event at the Lewis Ranch.

EDCTA meeting.

EDCTC meeting. Executive Director reported out that he and I met with Teichert Construction regarding their proposed realignment of a segment of Highway 49 near their quarry. Public engagement will part of their approval process. Executive Director also reported out that he was in contact with the City of Auburn to install signage on the new roundabout to warn truck drivers of their last opportunity to turn around and not get stuck on Highway 49 hairpins.

EDWA board meeting.  Presentation regarding the Irrigation Management Services Program.  We received good feedback from ag producers on how they use the program and its benefits.

Supervisor Veerkamp and I participated in a Homeless Ad Hoc Committee meeting with stakeholders.  Continue planning for permanent shelter location and services during gap. 

Supervisor Veerkamp and I participated in a Budget Ad Hoc Committee meeting. 

Meeting with staff regarding River Management Plan (RMP) update.  Parks and Rec Commission meeting rescheduled to 3/10 to review RMP updates. 

Thursday, 2/19 
Meeting with OWPR staff to discuss EDWA advocacy while in D.C. for FEMA funding to progress for the Weber Creek Resiliency project. 

Follow up meeting with LAFCO, GVFD, MVFD regarding Mosquito MVFD sustainability.

Monthly meeting with Agricultural Commissioner. 

Monthly meeting with Environmental Management Director.

Meeting with staff regarding General Plan Update. 

Attended the Gathering Inn’s Lunch and Learn Community meeting.  The reps introduced their project for temporary housing for homeless seniors near the Senior Center on Spring Street.  Their model looks for promising and all in attendance were encouraged.  To start, applicants must be Placerville residents and Anthem members for benefits.  Placerville City Council members were present and had previously been briefed.  Very supportive. 

Virtual Sierra Nevada Conservancy South Central subregion agenda review.  Good to see that 2 of the proposed projects for funding are in El Dorado County. 

Meeting with NAMI representatives regarding success of programs at the Clubhouse.

Attended RCRC/PG&E quarterly meeting.  Discussion was mostly on progress toward minimizing impacts from EPSS (fast trip switch) outages.   

Attended PG&E Answer Center at Mosquito Fire Station regarding upcoming undergrounding project on Rock Creek Road. 

Saturday, 2/28 
Attended Battle of the Badges 911 Chili Cook-off at the fairgrounds. 

 

March 2026

Wednesday, 3/4 
Agenda preparation with Executive Director Deloria to chair 3/5 EDCTC meeting. 

Phone call with Lauren Shoemaker, ASRA Parks, to discuss traffic safety on SR 49 at the Confluence.  Will follow up with Executive Director Deloria to arrange meeting with State Parks and Caltrans. 

DOT public meeting for updates on projects in Shingle Springs.

Thank you to Julianne Melchor for working with Carla Hass to promote our Employee Blood Drives and special appreciation to those who are able and do donate.  I do my best to donate when I can because not everyone is able to and donating blood saves lives.

Attended Shingle Springs Community Center quarterly breakfast. 

Attended the 36th Annual Way Too Cool 50K and 10M run.  I had the honor of holding the ribbon for the 1st place 50K male winner and presenting the first place 50K female winner with her prizes.

Monday, 3/9 
First 5 Commission meeting.  Updates included great participation in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library free book program at 37.5% of 8,310 eligible children ages 0-5.  Special thank you to these organizations for their donations toward postage to mail the books: 

● First 5 El Dorado County - $15,000  

● Friends of the Library - $15,000  

● Marcella Foundation- $15,000

Divide Chamber of Commerce Mixer at Art on the Divide Gallery in Georgetown. Good to see the Georgetown Library ballot measure supporters there.

Budget Ad Hoc meetings with Supervisor Veerkamp and staff.

Meeting with ARCC, PARC, and ASRA Captain regarding projects and parking in ASRA and the Confluence. Following up with AQMD for potential funds to allocate to an Auburn-to-ASRA shuttle to alleviate congestion.

DOT meeting in Coloma regarding DOT and State Parks projects.
