(PLACERVILLE, CA) – El Dorado County Supervisor Brooke Laine today announced the El Dorado County Forebay Park Improvement Project has been recommended by the California State Parks and Recreation Department to receive $1.4 million to fund improvements to the 14-acre park in Pollock Pines. The competitive grant is funded through the National Park Service’s (NPS) Land and Water Conservation Fund.
“We are delighted to have been selected as one of 18 projects throughout the state to be put forward to receive funding,” said Laine. “Along with local contributions and $1 million from the County, this grant would enable us to make additional needed improvements to this beloved park.”
These recommended funds will strategically leverage the County’s $1 million investment alongside California Proposition 68 grant funding to maximize available resources and achieve completion of both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the improvement project. The monies, if awarded after final review by NPS, will be used to enhance picnic areas, a disc golf course and a state-of-the-art playground.
“By allowing us to modernize aging infrastructure and expanding recreational options for families, youth and more, this grant will support the well-being of current residents, visitors and generations to come,” said Laine.
