The 2022 Codes apply to all building projects with an application date of January 1, 2023, or later. However, if your project or application was initiated before this date, the previous 2019 Codes will still apply during construction inspections and the plan check process. It is essential to keep your permit up to date and demonstrate ongoing progress on your project. Permits are valid for two years from the date of issuance and can be renewed for an additional year. Reactivating an expired permit will require a review to ensure compliance with the new codes, based on the status of the construction.
