(PLACERVILLE, CA)El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation will implement a closure of southbound Silva Valley Parkway between Clarksville Rd and Tong Road to allow for the installation of water and sewer lines under the roadway starting Monday, June 8th, 2026.

Work is anticipated to continue for subsequent weekdays through August 11, 2026, to coincide with the summer break for Buckeye Union School District. The southbound lanes will remain closed at all times, though work will generally be performed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Work on weekends or night work may be authorized, and on-site signage will reflect any changes.

Southbound traffic on Silva Valley Parkway will be detoured onto Clarksville Road and will reconnect with Silva Valley Parkway south of the highway. Highway-bound traffic and drivers accessing Tong Road will turn left at Silva Valley Parkway from the detour route. Traffic exiting Highway 50 and northbound traffic on Silva Valley Parkway will not have their routes affected, but motorists should expect additional traffic on the northbound approach and possible delays. See the attached detour map for additional information.

Motorists should be aware of large trucks entering or exiting the roadway and should follow the direction of any flaggers or traffic controls when present.  Message boards will be present on Silva Valley Parkway and connecting roads, and any changes to the scheduled work will be reflected on-site.

Motorists are advised to slow down through the work zone and expect delays during construction.  Motorists are also advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work zone to arrive at their destinations on time or use alternate routes to avoid the construction area.

The County sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists that use this roadway, and we apologize for any inconvenience as a result of the work.

For questions regarding this construction, please contact the County’s Transportation main line at (530) 621‑5900 (select Option 3 for Engineering).
