Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO)

On July 15, 2015, California approved revisions to the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO).

MWELO promotes efficient water use in new and retrofitted landscapes. 

The MWELO Ordinance applies to:

• New projects equal to or greater than 500 sq ft.
• Rehabilitated landscape projects greater than 2,500 sq ft.
