Home Weatherization Program

The Weatherization Program provides free energy efficiency measures to income-eligible households at no cost to the residents. On an average most households that receive Weatherization Services will reduce heating bills by 35% and may lower your overall energy bills by about $400 a year.

Eligible El Dorado and Alpine County homeowners and renters may apply for this program.

 

Apply for Weatherization Today If:

  • You feel cold drafts coming from your windows and/or doors, even when they're closed
  • You are running the heater all day in the winter just to stay warm
  • You are keeping your air conditioner on all the time in the summer
  • Want to save money on your monthly energy costs

 

If Your Home Qualifies for Weatherization, Services May Include:

  • Door repair or replacementcaulking window
  • New smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms
  • Duct repair or replacement
  • Led light bulbs and nightlights
  • Low flow faucet restrictors and shower heads
  • Heat/Furnace repair or replacement
  • Cooling repair or replacement
  • Water heater repair or replacement
  • Attic/Floor insulation
  • And many more measures
