Veterans Monument Criteria for Military Honoraria - Update

The El Dorado County (EDC) Veterans Monument was established to recognize and honor military veterans. The EDC Veteran Services office has been gathering input from the public regarding proposed updates to the criteria and process for placing military honoraria (such as memorial bricks, benches, and plaques that recognize veterans) at the Veterans Monument over for the last couple of months.

A public meeting was held on January 30, 2025, and an online survey remained open through February 5, 2025, to collect feedback. This input was used to develop proposed updates to the El Dorado County Veterans Monument Criteria for Military Honoraria and Civilian Recognition. These proposals were reviewed and discussed by the El Dorado County Veteran Affairs Commission (VAC) at their March 13 and March 26, 2025 meetings.

The updated Veterans Monument criteria will be presented to the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors at their July 15, 2025 meeting, scheduled for 9:00 AM. Members of the public are welcome to attend or follow the meeting to learn more about the criteria and any changes in regards to the Veterans Monument Criteria for Military Honoraria.
