Septic Inspections

All septic inspections must be called into the Environmental Management Septic Inspection Recorder. The phone number is (530) 621-6634.

You may phone in an inspection any time during the day up until 7:00 a.m. the morning of the inspection. 

You will be required to have the following information to receive an inspection:

  • Permit Number
  • Owner's Name
  • Job Location
  • Date of Inspection
  • Installer and field phone number
  • Type of Inspection: Open Trench, Final

If you have a special design, you must have the engineers signed plot plan on site. All systems must have the entire length of trenches uncovered for inspection. And an accurate "as-built" drawn by the installer or engineer on site.

If all the necessary information is not provided your inspection may be delayed or a reinspection may be necessary. If you have any questions, please call our office at (530) 621-5300. 

Note: Driving over any portion of your leach lines or septic tank will damage the system and can lead to failure.
