Authority to Construct Permits
The AQMD issues Authority to Construct permits for El Dorado County. Authority to Construct Permits address stationary sources and are required for all commercial and industrial projects that may cause, eliminate, reduce, or control the issuance of air contaminants. An Authority to Construct permit is required before construction but is also required if an existing source is modified. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Permit issuance may take a few months, so it is advisable to contact AQMD early in the project planning phase. Authority to Construct permits are good for one year and are renewable one time for one additional year.
