What Are Administrative Zoning Ordinance Amendments?

The Administrative Zoning Ordinance Update (AZOU) is a package of small, administrative, amendments to Title 130.

These amendments are proposed on a yearly basis, and will fall into one or more of the six (6) following categories:

  1. Minor corrections and text modifications for clarity; correcting errors, ambiguity, or omissions; and consistency;
  2. Minor procedural changes that are not controversial or clarify standard industry practice;
  3. State law requirements that allow or restrict by right uses;
  4. Incorporation of Director Interpretation of various sections of the Zoning Ordinance that have not been appealed;
  5. Consolidate or renumber previously adopted zoning regulations not included in the 2015 Zoning Ordinance Update; and
  6. Incorporation of implementation measures outlined in elements of the General Plan.
