The Long Range Planning team is responsible for helping the Board of Supervisors develop plans, policies, ordinances and programs. Long range planning involves highly complex and diverse land use decisions that require a careful balancing of competing economic, social and environmental interests.

What's New

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Planning Commission held a hearing to review the 2026 Administrative Zoning Ordinance Update (AZOU) package. These updates are intended to address small, noncontroversial amendments to the county Zoning Code. Click here for hearing materials.
