Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO)

On January 2, 2025,  revisions to the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO) went into effect.

MWELO promotes efficient water use in new and retrofitted landscapes. 

The MWELO applies to:

• New projects equal to or greater than 500 square feet.
• Rehabilitated landscape projects greater than 2,500 square feet.
