Administrative Zoning Ordinance Amendments

The Administrative Zoning Ordinance Update (AZOU) is a package of small administrative amendments to Title 130 of the County Zoning Code. These amendments are proposed on a yearly basis and are intended to address:

1. Minor corrections and text modifications for clarity; correcting errors, ambiguity, or omissions; and consistency;

2. Minor procedural changes that are not controversial or clarify standard industry practice;

3. State law requirements that allow or restrict by right uses;

4. Incorporation of Director Interpretation of various sections of the Zoning Ordinance that have not been appealed;

5. Consolidate or renumber previously adopted zoning regulations not included in the 2015 Zoning Ordinance Update; and

6. Incorporation of implementation measures outlined in elements of the General Plan.

The 2026 AZOU Title 130 Amendments Ordinance No. 5267 was adopted on 8/18/2026 and became effective on 9/16/2026.
