Welcome to El Dorado County’s Vacation Home Rental (VHR) Information Site. Here you will find the County’s VHR ordinance, recent Board action, public outreach, and other VHR-related information. What's New

Updated Exterior Signs - New VHR Code Enforcement Complaint Hotline and new Non-Emergency numbers are on the newer signs (located under Popular Links/Application, Forms, & Policies)

Policy on Changes to occupancy on Issued VHR Permits(PDF, 46KB): As of 6/1/2023 no change in occupancy is allowed once a VHR Permit is Issued. A change in occupancy requires a new VHR Permit.

Fees

Fees

  • New VHR Permits are $760.00
  • Renewals are $380.00
  • Above fees do not include the fire safety inspection fee. That fee is based on the dwelling's size and is required with a new permit and every two years thereafter
  • Waitlists are $190.00
  • There is also a $31.00 Technology Fee Surcharge applied to new and renewing applications
