Shelter Wish List and Donations
Do you want to help an animal in need?
The shelter can always use monetary donations to help us care for the housing, medical or food needs of the animals.
The Pet Aid Fund goes directly toward the care of animals in El Dorado County who are in need, particularly those who have been injured, abandoned, or rescued due to abuse or neglect, or in emergency situations. These funds pay for medicines, special food, medical care, and other needs to help the animals at our shelters recover. The funds also help provide for food, sheltering and other needs when animals have been evacuated during wildland fires, or for the care of animals sheltering in place during a wildfire.
If you want to help with a Monetary donation, please complete the Pet Aid Fund(PDF, 254KB) Form and send a check payable to El Dorado County Animal Services.
Please be sure to write "Pet Aid Donation" in the subject line of your check.
Pet Aid donations are generally tax deductible.
Animal shelters are also always in need of donated items to help care for the shelter animals. Here are just a few of our current needs. (Items with an asterisk are especially needed right now):
West Slope Shelter Wish List
- Large "Retriever Roll" rawhides
- "Mammoth Bones" & "Knuckle bones"
- Cow hooves
- Small & medium plastic cat carriers
- Small round fleece cat beds
- Towels
- Blankets (Fleece blankets only, please, and nothing with stuffing)
- Cat and dog toys
- Dog collars-all sizes
- Dog leashes
- Cash for the Pet Aid fund
- Treats
- Dry dog & cat food or canned food
- Halti or gentle leaders for dogs of all sizes
- Thunder Shirts
- Large plastic storage tubs
- 5 gallon buckets
- Colorful scrapbook paper
- Baby gates & X-pens
- Ziploc Bags: sandwich and gallon size
- Clorox wipes
- Window paint

- Powdered Esbilac (Puppy milk replacement)
- Canned GROUND FRISKIES cat food; "mixed grill" flavor or "supreme supper" flavor preferred

- Mendota Slip Dog Lead 6ft x 1/2in Red
- Petmate Crazy Circle Interactive Cat Toy, Small

- Dog coats all sizes. We especially need dog coats in the larger sizes and that are waterproof.

- Royal Canin Canned Mother and Baby Cat
- Gift certificates for grooming.
Please note that we are currently NOT accepting blankets, towels or soft dog toys, as we are out of room to store them.
