Senior Peer Counseling

The Senior Peer Counseling Programhelps meet the individual needs of our communities' older population andoffers supportive counseling to seniors.Senior volunteers are trained by professionals to counsel seniors in a self-help approach that enriches and enhances their lives. Their training, combined with similar life experience, enables counselors to help their peers cope with a range of common concerns.Each of our trained counselors has been specifically chosen for his or her personal warmth and non-judgmental qualities, as well as varied life experiences.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 55 years of age or older
  • Resident of El Dorado County

Cost:

Services are offered without charge. Clients who are able are encouraged to make tax-deductible contributions. The program is supported by the Area Agency on Aging and the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).
