  • 5/7/2026 El Dorado County Transportation Commission
During the budget discussion, Commissioner Parlin asked the Commissioners to explore an EDCTC-funded planning process to create a comprehensive plan for fire resiliency and evacuation for Volcanoville residents, which will be implemented using the Mosquito Fire Settlement funds designated for the Mosquito Fire Footprint Area. Commissioner Parlin appreciates that the Commissioners gave direction to staff to explore such a planning process and bring it back to the Commission as soon as possible. Announcements will be distributed when information is available regarding public participation. We are looking forward to this exciting opportunity and community engagement.

  • 4/21/2026 Shared Services Agreement
Item 50. 26-0638 The Board of Supervisors directed staff to enter into negotiations with Garden Valley Fire Protection District for a potential shared services model on the Georgetown Divide; and conceptually approve use of the Mosquito Fire Settlement Fund for the first two years of a shared services agreement. Although Supervisor Parlin was in Washington, D.C. for a conference, she supported the item and appreciated her fellow board members for their support and the Volcanoville residents who she worked with to make public comment to support the request that the funds be designated for use in the Mosquito Fire Footprint area. This shared services model is an exciting new approach of collaboration to sustain fire and emergency services on the Georgetown Divide.
