Tobacco Prevention
The Tobacco Use Prevention Program (TUPP) provides support for tobacco free workplaces, schools, and communities. Strategies include, but are not limited to:
- Reducing exposure to secondhand smoke, tobacco smoke residue, tobacco waste and other tobacco products;
- Reducing the availability of tobacco;
- Limiting tobacco promoting influences;
- Promoting tobacco cessation resources and referrals to Kick It California;
- Educating on the California Smoke-free Workplace Laws and El Dorado County Clean Indoor Air and Health Protection Ordinance;
- Supporting local engagement through community coalitions;
- Policy development.

The cessation support program is free of charge. We are here to help.
Kick It California offers a range of services, from one-to-one Quit Coaching to text programs and self-help materials.

- Join the Tobacco Prevention Coalition
The Tobacco Prevention Coalition is an advisory body to Public Health’s Tobacco Prevention Programs. Membership includes representatives from community agencies, schools, organizations, major racial/ethnic groups within local health jurisdictions, and individuals with special interest or expertise in tobacco control. Meetings are held quarterly.
