The El Dorado County Office of Wildfire Preparedness and Resilience, in partnership with the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council, has announced the release of the Draft 2025 Western El Dorado County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Public comment on the draft CWPP can be submitted to wildfireready@edcgov.us through June 9, 2025.

ICE HOUSE ROAD REHABILITATION PROJECT TO BEGIN THIS MONTH

The El Dorado County Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration - Central Federal Lands Highway Division and Martin Brothers (Martin Brothers) Construction, is performing road work on Ice House Road between the intersection of Peavine Ridge Road to the junction of Wentworth Springs Road in the El Dorado National Forest scheduled for May 12, 2025.

MOSQUITO ROAD CLOSURE SCHEDULED FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT WORK

El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation (DOT) will be performing structures, drainage, materials deliveries, crane maintenance, road maintenance, and bridge maintenance work on Mosquito Road from 0.6 miles north to 0.8 miles south of the Mosquito Road Bridge. The construction work will require full closure of Mosquito Road at the gates beginning Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

MISSOURI FLAT ROAD CLOSURE MAY 8th-9th 2025

El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation will be closing Missouri Flat Road overnight at 9:00 PM on May 8, 2025 through 5:00 AM on May 9, 2025 to safely place bridge deck concrete over the roadway as part of the El Dorado Trail Pedestrian Overcrossing Project. The road closure limits extend between Golden Center Drive and Old Depot Road.

TRANSPORTATION IMPACT FEE ANALYSIS DISCREPENCY LEADS TO ADJUSTMENT

The analysis provided to the Board of Supervisors in December when it approved the County’s Transportation Impact Fees (TIF) update was found to have a discrepancy, requiring a new analysis and approval by the Board. The TIF is a one-time fee imposed on development projects to offset traffic impacts of the projects.
