Field Training Officers (FTO)
Field Training Officers (FTOs) play a vital role in ensuring the quality and competency of El Dorado County’s EMS system. FTOs provide clinical oversight, guidance, and education to new paramedic applicants during the accreditation process, helping them navigate local policies, protocols, and operational procedures. They facilitate onboarding, deliver in-service training, communicate policy updates, and participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. With extensive field experience and advanced certifications, FTOs uphold high standards of care and verify the readiness of new paramedics to serve the community.
