The County of El Dorado is pleased to honor the dedication and unwavering commitment of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals who work tirelessly, often in the most challenging conditions, to provide critical care and life-saving emergency medical services to our community. This year, May 18 - 24, 2025 is recognized as National EMS Week, with the theme “We Care. For Everyone”.

The EMS Agency hours for EMT/Paramedic/EMR Certification/Accreditation walk-in hours are:
- Tuesdays 8:00 am-4:00 pm (Closed for Lunch 12:00 pm-1:00 pm)
- Thursdays 8:00 am-4:00 pm (Closed for Lunch 12:00 pm-1:00 pm)

Hospital Preparedness Program
The Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) enhances the local health care systems to prepare for and respond to emergencies. This initiative focuses on enhancing the capacity and capabilities of healthcare facilities to respond effectively to emergencies and disasters. Through collaboration, training, and resource coordination, the HPP ensures that hospitals and medical services are prepared to provide high-quality care in times of crisis. Our goal is to maintain a resilient healthcare system that can handle any situation with efficiency and expertise.
Medical Health Operational Area Coordinator Program
The MHOAC Program is responsible for coordinating the functions identified in the Health and Safety Code §1797.153 and the coordination of activities to ensure management of medical and health resources and reporting of situational status from the operational area (OA) to the Region and/or State during disasters/emergencies.
