Community Region Design Standards

Starting in May 2025, the County began working with community members to create permanent design standards for new multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial projects in the County's Community Regions—beginning with Shingle Springs, followed by El Dorado/Diamond Springs, Cameron Park, and El Dorado Hills. 

The Shingle Springs community design standards and guidelines are complete and effective as of 4/3/2026, and the El Dorado/Diamond Springs community design standards will be brought to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors for final approval in July/August 2026.
