Rural Center Mid-Foothill Design Zone

Starting in May 2026, the County began working with community members to create permanent design standards for new multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial projects in the County's 29 Rural Centers, including Georgetown, Cool-Pilot Hill, Pleasant Valley, Camino, Pollock Pines and many others.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the County held a kickoff meeting in Georgetown to launch new design standards for the north County Mid-Foothill communities, including communities along the Georgetown Divide. Meeting materials are posted under the "Community Meetings and Workshops" tab below.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 6:00-7:00 p.m., the County will be holding a second kickoff meeting at the Cool Community Church, 863 Cave Valley Road, Cool, CA 95614, to launch the design standards project for Mid-Foothill communities along the Georgetown Divide. On Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:00-7:00 p.m., County staff will be holding a third kickoff meeting at the Pioneer Park Community Center, 6740 Fair Play Road, Somerset, CA 95684, for Mid-Foothill communities in the south County. Check back for more details!

All meeting materials, including staff presentations and Stakeholder Advisory Team (SAT) volunteer applications, will be posted under the "Community Meetings and Workshops" tab below in advance of the meeting.
