Project Overview

The Diamond Springs Pedestrian Facility Improvements Project is in the community of Diamond Springs and will install bicycle facilities and pedestrian facilities, including but not limited to sidewalks and ADA compliant curb ramps. The project will evaluate and determine the best types and placement of bicycle and pedestrian facilities in the following areas:

1.) Pleasant Valley Road between Pearl Place and State Route 49

2.) Pearl Place

3.) Racquet Way

4.) Wimbledon Drive

Status

The project received funding for planning, design, and right of way in November 2022. The project has received state and federal environmental clearance, and is currently working on the right of way phase. The County is applying for competitive grant funds to complete the construction in the near future. 

Purpose and Need

This project is included in the El Dorado County Active Transportation Plan and will provide connection of active commercial and business areas, and increasing non-motorized access to jobs, services and schools.

Total Project Cost & Anticipated Completion

Total Cost: $2,983,000

Anticipated Completion: Dependent upon construction funds

Funding

The project is currently being funding by Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program (CMAQ) funds, with Transportation seeking additional funding through various grant programs.
