Project Overview
The La Canada Drive & Gateway Drive Pedestrian/ Bicycle Improvements Project provides improvements to the pedestrian and bicycle facilities in the community of Cameron Park between La Canada and Gateway Drive. Improvements include the construction of approximately 0.57 miles of Class II bike lanes, Class III bike routes, approximately 2,310 linear feet of new sidewalks, two new crosswalks, and new and/or upgraded curbs, ramps, and gutters.

Status
The project received funding for planning, design, and right of way in November 2022. The project is currently working on state and federal environmental clearance. The County is applying for competitive grant funds for construction funding.
Purpose and Need
This project is included in the El Dorado County Active Transportation Plan and will provide connection of active commercial and business areas, and increasing non-motorized access to jobs, services and schools.
Total Project Cost & Anticipated Completion
Total Cost: $3,163,000
Anticipated Completion: June 2027 (pending construction funds)
Funding
The project is currently being funding by Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program (CMAQ) funds, with Transportation seeking additional funding through various grant programs.
