The Long Range Planning team is responsible for helping the Board of Supervisors develop plans, policies, ordinances and programs. Long range planning involves highly complex and diverse land use decisions that require a careful balancing of competing economic, social and environmental interests.

What's New

On September 16, 2025, the Board of Supervisors approved updates to the County's Sign Ordinance (Chapter 130.36 of the Zoning Ordinance) and new Cameron Park Sign Standards, which will be effective on October 16, 2025. Please click here for more information.

On August 19, 2025, the Board of Supervisors approved the Administrative Zoning Ordinance Update (AZOU) which included edits to both Title 2 (Administration and Personnel) and Title 130 (Zoning Ordinance). Click here for the hearing materials and copies of the final adopted ordinances.
