El Dorado County Parks and Trails Division in partnership with El Dorado County Transportation Commission and Friends of El Dorado Trail, are hosting a Missouri Flat Road Overcrossing Grand Opening and El Dorado Trail Community Bike Ride on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
All ages are welcome to join this free family-friendly Community Bike Ride on El Dorado Trail which culminates at the Missouri Flat Road Bike/Pedestrian Overcrossing for the Grand Opening and ribbon cutting.

Event Details
8:30am | El Dorado Trail Community Bike Ride
Bring your bike and helmet! The Community Bike Ride begins at 8:30am at the Ray Lawyer Trailhead, where there is ample parking at the Ray Lawyer Park & Ride lot. The Ride will traverse a Class 1 section of El Dorado Trail 3-miles west to pass over Trestles Bridge and arrive at Old Depot Bike Park. There will be partner booths and refreshments for riders at the Bike Park, as well as restroom facilities, water fountain, picnic tables, and a bike repair station.
9:30am | Grand Opening for the Missouri Flat Road Bike/Pedestrian Overcrossing
At 9:30am the Grand Opening event will commence for the newly constructed Missouri Flat Road Bike/Pedestrian Overcrossing which will safely connect the El Dorado Trail across Missouri Flat Road. The grand opening will feature a ribbon cutting and guest speakers.
Bike riders can continue their ride on a Class 1 section of El Dorado Trail for another 2-miles west to visit the County’s Historical Railroad Park where there are restroom facilities, water fountain, playground, and a dog park. Ambitious bike riders can continue west on a natural segment of the trail from Railroad Park to Bradford Park where there are restroom facilities, water fountain, playground, and picnic areas.
