May is Bike Month Volunteer Events!
Join Parks and Trails Division, Friends of El Dorado Trail, Mother Lode Trail Stewardship, and FATRAC for May is Bike Month volunteer events! Help us take care of the County's bike and trail facilities in celebration of Bike Month. No experience or tools necessary, just bring a pair of gloves.
El Dorado Trail Workday
Saturday, May 2, 2026 | 9:00am to 12:00pm
El Dorado Trail Workday volunteer event is hosted by the Parks and Trails Division, in partnership with Friends of El Dorado Trail, Mother Lode Trail Stewardship, and FATRAC. The event will take place along the natural trail section near Latrobe Rd in the El Dorado Hills area. Volunteers are needed to help with installing a culvert and rock hardening of the natural trail.
Important Details:
- Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult in attendance.
- Bring a pair of work gloves, water, and sunscreen.
- Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and weather appropriate clothing.
- All tools and equipment will be provided.
Location:
The volunteer workday is taking place at a natural trail segment of El Dorado Trail located off Latrobe Rd at the intersection with Wetsel-Oviatt Rd south of Royal Oaks Dr in El Dorado Hills area.

Parking:
From Latrobe Rd turn onto Wetsel-Oviatt Rd and continue 1,600 feet to the intersection with Dunlap Ranch Rd. Park at the parking area that will be located at the intersection off Wetsel-Oviatt Rd. The remaining mile to the project site is a rough dirt road that requires 4-wheel or all-wheel drive. Parks Division staff will transport volunteers from the parking area to the project site. Old Depot Bike Park Clean-Up Event
Saturday, May 16, 2026 | 9:00am to 11:00am
Old Depot Bike Park Clean-Up volunteer event is hosted by the Parks and Trails Division, in partnership with Friends of El Dorado Trail and Mother Lode Trail Stewardship. Volunteers are needed to help with weed pulling / removal, mulching, sweeping the pump track, and raking to smooth out the dirt track.
Important Details:
- All ages are welcome. Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult in attendance.
- Bring a pair of work gloves, water, and sunscreen.
- Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and weather appropriate clothing.
- All tools and equipment will be provided.

Old Depot Bike Park, 40 Old Depot Rd, Placerville
Parking:
Parking is available nearby in the Walmart park and ride lot and Golden Center Dr. The Old Depot Bike Park can also be access by bike from the El Dorado Trail.
