- 3/10/2026 - Friends of the Rubicon (FOTR) is holding their annual meeting on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10 AM - 1 PM at American Legion Post 119 in Placerville to discuss projects on the Rubicon Trail and Adopt-A-Trail collaboration for 2026. Input on ways to improve the program is encouraged. Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF) will be providing lunch so please RSVP at https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Mf4SAG4mh/
- 3/10/2026 - Maintenance on the El Dorado Trail between Old Depot Bike Park and Missouri Flat Road is finished and back open Thursdays and Fridays.
- 3/2/2026 - Parks Division is applying to the California Department of Parks and Recreation Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division for funding of projects on the Rubicon Trail. The 60-day public review and comment period for the 2026 Grants and Cooperative Agreement Program begins March 3, 2026, and ends no later than 5:00pm PST on May 4, 2026. This period provides an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the preliminary applications submitted to the OHMVR Division for consideration during the current grant cycle.
To review the grant applications submitted, click on the OHMVR Grants link and click on “Review Preliminary Applications” from the home menu. The public may provide comment by emailing the OHVMR Division at OHV.Grants@parks.ca.gov and copying Parks Manager Zachary Perras at Zachary.Perras@edcgov.us.
- 2/9/2026 - CAL FIRE Amador–El Dorado Unit (AEU), in partnership with the County of El Dorado and Friends of the El Dorado Trail, is working to improve safety, accessibility, and wildfire resilience along the unpaved section of the El Dorado Trail. - 12/1/2025 - Henningsen Lotus Park 2026 Annual Parking Passes are now available for purchase and will be valid until December 31, 2026.
- 10/30/2025 - Please see the updated Parks Division Fee Schedule(PDF, 440KB) effective December 1, 2025.
- 9/3/2025 - Old Depot Road will be realigned as part of the Diamond Springs Parkway Project. Temporary detour in place starting September 4, 2025. Please see the following News Release(PDF, 683KB) for more information.
