The Cultural Competency Committee is comprised of county Behavioral Health staff and community members representing varying minority ethnicities and cultural groups to address the concerns of the cultural communities in the county through evaluation and monitoring Behavioral Health services delivery and practice.

Cultural Competence Plan

The Cultural Competence Plan (CCP) Requirements, as detailed in Department of Mental Health (DMH) Information Notice 10-02, 10-17, and DMC-ODS Intergovernmental Agreement establish standards and criteria for the entire County Mental Health System, including Medi-Cal services, Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), Substance Abuse Block Grant (SABG), and Realignment as part of working toward achieving cultural and linguistic competence. El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), Behavioral Health Division (BHD), originally developed its Cultural Competence Plan in 2010 and has continued to update it annually. El Dorado County BHD Plan includes both Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use Disorder Services (SUDS).  Plans can be found here.
