The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has two Patrol teams, operating out of the Placerville Public Safety Facility and the South Lake Tahoe office. The Placerville Patrol team consists of patrol deputies, the Interdiction unit, Resident deputies, School Resource Officers, the Psychiatric Emergency Response team (PERT), K9 and the Field Training Program. These teams all work together to provide exceptional service to El Dorado County. Deputies can often be found at local community events, meeting with community members and learning what issues are most important to them.

Patrol is typically the first level responder for all calls for service, from fraud and property crimes to violent crimes in progress. They work closely with other specialty units, such as detectives and narcotics, or collateral assignments such as SWAT, EOD, or UAS to ensure the safety of the community.
