Video Visitation

Video visits are available at a reduced cost. The cost of video visitation has been reduced to 0.20 cents a minute. We have expanded our visitation calendar to allow for video visits 7 days per week between the hours of 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM. Please note that certain blocks of time will be excluded so that we can continue to meet the medical and dietary needs of those who are incarcerated. Video visitation must be scheduled in advance at https://videovisit.ncic.com .

NCIC Inmate Communications offers remote Video Visitation at the Placerville Jail and South Lake Tahoe Jail. Friends and family members can visit with their incarcerated loved one from the comfort of home via internet on a home computer, tablet, or smart phone application with a working camera!

Video Visitation Terms and Conditions:

  • The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office reserves the right to deny, cancel, or terminate a video visit prior to or during a video session based upon a visitor or inmate's misconduct.
  • Participation in video-visitation is a privilege, not a right. The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office reserves the right to restrict visitors from participating in future use of the video visitation system.
  • All video visits are recorded and subject to monitoring by El Dorado County Sheriff's Office personnel. Use of the video visitation system constitutes consent to this recording and monitoring.
  • Inmate and visitor are required to keep their faces within camera view at all times during the video visit. Inmates and/or visitors who do not maintain their faces within camera view will be subject to their visit being terminated.
  • DRESS CODE: No nudity, tight fitting or provocative clothing is allowed to be worn during the video visit. Examples of clothing/dress styles that are not allowed include but are not limited to the following: NO TANK TOPS, HALF TOPS, SPAGHETTI STRAPS OR BATHING SUITS. NO SHEER FABRIC OR EXPOSED UNDERGARMENTS. NO GANG ATTIRE. NO HATS, BANDANAS, BEANIES, ETC. (Nothing is to be worn on the head) All visitors, male, female, adult and children must adhere to the dress code. Failure to comply with the dress code will result in the cancellation of the video visit. Violators will be barred from participating in video (off-site) visitation. Visitors appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs; displaying items that may be considered contraband such as drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapons; or displaying gang signs, symbols, colors, etc., are subject to having the visit cancelled and being barred from future visits. Any type of disruptive behavior will not be permitted, i.e. loud, boisterous and rude language, etc. Any visitor observed in inappropriate conduct, sexual behavior, or any type of indecent exposure, may be permanently banned from video visits. Visitors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present during the visit.
  • Inmates are allowed (1) video visit each day video visitation is available. Each video visit is scheduled for a maximum of 30 minutes. Inmates will not be pulled away from any court ordered classes for video visits.
  • Visitors who have served time in the CDCR prison system but are not currently on Parole or PRCS will not be permitted to participate in video visitation without prior written approval from the Jail Commander. Visitors who are currently on probation, parole or PRCS are not permitted to participate in video visitation without prior written approval from the Jail Commander and your Parole/Probation officer.
  • Should video visiting rules be violated, i.e. dress code or disruptive behavior during your visits, your video visitation privileges will be terminated.
  • Video visitation sessions will terminate at the end of the scheduled video visit.

Video Visitation Services Cost:

NCIC offers 1 free video visit per week to each inmate and has reduced the price of video visits from $0.30 to $0.20 a minute.
