Temporary Suspension of Alternative Sentencing and Self-Surrender

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has been taking proactive steps to mitigate the potential introduction or spread of COVID-19 in the community which includes the population within our jails. This has been done in close consultation with local, state and federal officials.
The Work Program is back up and running without restriction, seven days a week. Work Program participants must arrive at the jails by 7:45 am each morning to check in. There is no Work Program on County holidays.
All those who have a court ordered jail surrender date are now being accepted, no appointment necessary. Just surrender to the jail by the date and time, mandated on your court paperwork.
All those who are court ordered to serve an Intermittent (Weekender) Sentence are encouraged to contact the El Dorado County Jail at (530) 621-6007, for the Placerville Jail or (530) 573-3031, for the Tahoe Jail, for further information. There is currently a wait list for the Intermittent Sentence Program and participants are being accepted on a limited basis.
